HI FOODIES!Β SPRING MEHI FOODIES!Β LUNCH WITH @matty_bobbins TOOK US TO ONE OF MY FAVOURITES @shosho_izakaya It was Matt’s first time so I popped his ShoSho cherry.Β
Why is it a favourite? The vibe. It’s so chill! Full of light, during the day, everyone smiles, the kitchen flows, FOH is freaking fantastic! Some of the best FOH staff in Adelaide live at ShoSho! Oh and their tempura! The BEST fricken tempura in SA resides at ShoSho.
Funnily enough my favourite dish is the kingfish sashimi with strange flavour dressing and umami salad.
Everyone who has been to ShoSho has tried the Laughing Cow Shallot Pancake. When you go, it’s another must order.
I remember the first time I didn’t order Scallop prawn and Kohlrabi Kakiage with Hot Dashi. @tombo_slicex
ordered it for me! βοΈ Promised I’d love it. I do. The textures are incredible.
I’m going to cut this short. Not enough space to talk about everything we had.
Yellow Fin Whiting, Wasabi Tartare
Perilla Scallop and Ginger Dumpling
White Pepper Blue Swimmer Crab, Koshihikari rice, Tempura Batter – texture everywhere
Soft Shell Crab, Yuzu Mayo, Togarshi – If you’re into soft shell crab…this one’s for you.
Lastly, Matt had been dying to try the Yuzu tart with burnt meringue. I’ve had it numerous times, each time better than the previous. It didn’t disappoint. I think his dm to me was, one of the best desserts he’s had. Happy to be corrected.
