Pipi at Middleton

HI FOODIES!👋🏻HAPPY MONDAY! 🤘🏻 TAKE A TRIP TO THE FLEURIEU AND YOU HAVE TO STOP IN TO @pipiatmiddleton

Why?

The food is always outstanding…..ALWAYS!

Took the teenager out for brunch…she paid…so I guess she took me? 🤔😁

We ordered the Pancakes with Poached Pear, Salted Caramel, Vanilla Sour Cream and Toasted Almonds. The serve was massive! 😱 I could tell just by looking at the ingredients on the menu, this was going to be an epic dish! That beautiful fresh pear to cut through the sticky salted caramel sauce…stroke of genius using sour cream! All the components were there! Not a boring texture either!  Those toasted almonds kept your palate interested.

The dish I ordered is not on the menu. Chef had been working on the beetroot falafel for years. Like, every chef I know, it has to be perfect. The food put out is a reflection on them. No chef I know sends out dishes that they weren’t 100% happy with. I had a Salad Bowl with chefs very own Beetroot Falafels, Pickled Radish, House made Tabouli (no burghul, GF) with Tahini, Lemon and Sumac. Freaking hell it worked🤯 Sumac is generally used to replace lemon in this case, the tahini gave that delicious nutty taste  and when blended with lemon, it became a next level dressing. The sumac gave the dish complexity. No no no, there’s not too much of an acidic component, the sweet, earthy beetroot falafel brought everything down a notch.

Yes, I did have a chat to the chef. I love talking to the chef when I visit an eatery. They’re the heart! They’re the artists! So much love for them. ❤
